just say no didn't work for drugs, it won't work for sex

as many of you know, the bush administration has cut $34 million in funding for the UNFPA (the UN's family planning program). now the bush administration has proposed a $135 million appropriation for abstinence-only education.

while abstinence-only education is a nice thought, it is not realistic. our youth needs to be educated on all aspects of sexuality, including methods of contraception, sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS prevention.

advocates for youth and rock the vote have put together a petition to urge congress not to pass this new funding.

the petition can be signed here.
