Caravan of Cause 2002-05-14, 3:50 a.m. Hi, everyone! My name is Lillian, and my diary is Diary of a Mad Girl. I am an activist (with a focus on issues of the radical left) living in Central Florida, and thought this might be of interest to other readers in the state of Florida. :) Currently, there is just this preliminary information, but more info should be available soon. If interested, contact Grandmothers And Others. ---------------- Join the car caravan on Sunday, July 28th and cross Florida in the largest car caravan in Florida's history. We will show our resolve that every vote counts and that we will fight for our freedom of speech. Grandmothers And Others are creating one of the largest rallies of the election season by organizing the caravan to depart from four (hopefully soon to be more) locations in the state: Tampa, Daytona, Miami, and Tallahassee. The meeting destination will be in the Orlando area. Progressive groups are invitied to participate and have display tables at the rally. We will send a signal to those forces that don't represent working families and populist causes that on November 5th - Election Day - we will make sure every vote counts and that our voices are heard. That is the day our children and grandchildrens' educational future will win, the environment will win, affordable and available health care will win, working families will win, and senior citizens will win. On July 28th, cars, trucks, RVs, and busses will arrive in Central Florida (traveling at a minimum speed of 45 or 50 mph, according to highway safety laws). Orange will be the color of the day - for the Florida orange - to remind the powers that be that the votes and voices of the people will be heard. We believe the people have a right to be heard and not silenced. Join us for a day of awareness.
